This doesn't function for IE as IE expects the favicon in the root of the website.

Isn't there a solution, realurl? to make the favicon location based on the domain root? Maybe we can expand the domains table?

I'm not aware of a realurl solution, but i think using .htaccess with a host condition could do the job

This won't work for me in any browser. The Icon is where it should be and the template code is there. is there some step I am missing?

I have added the request within the template and putting it in root level and, in that way, it works fine.
